"One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain." - Bob Marley
I picked this quote because like myself, Bob Marley is a musician. Bob Marley is a very smart man but everybody thinks he was just a junky because he smoked alot of marijuana. Marijuana didn't hurt him. I think he was trying to give America a message through his music, his fan base just wasn't big enough. I agree with this quote because every time I hear music it really uplifts my soul. I can be really sad, if I listen to a hype or uplifting song it will have me jumping around or feeling good in no time. All my pain mysteriously disappears. But after the music, it comes back unfortunately. I don't know what it is about the music but it's like it has something in it that makes me forget about my problems.

Class Related Post
Socratic seminars seem to be ripping me apart this semester. I hate them. I feel as if they're bringing my grades down because of all the work you have to do just to participate. Don't get me wrong the concepts/themes of the stories are good. It's just all of the questions that follow it. Maybe if we just read the passages and then talked about them in the Socratic seminar instead of writing about what we're going to talk about would be better. Most people could read and talk about it without a problem, it's the writing part that they don't like. I need to improve my writing endurance because I know college will be asking for a lot but I don't think I'm ready to start improving it in this class, because i don't think it helps me. What i did like was when we read the passages and then presented the passage that each group was assigned to then take notes. I believe that worked better because it's not like we had to talk about each and every story, We were assigned a story which we taught to our fellow classmates and we learned about their stories when they were presented.

Free write
Freeee writeeeee.. finally. I've been looking forward to a free write because I hate being told what to do. What I want to talk about is MUSIC! Lately I've been thinking that since people are becoming rich/wealthy just from music, then why can't I do it? There's many different things you could do in the music industry. For example you could make instrumentals, write lyrics, produce lyrics for others, produce songs and even do things as little as designing the set of music videos or stage performances. Although all people don't listen to the same music, money still triples because it's so many people in the world. I'm good at a lot of things dealing with music, such as rapping, instrumentals, and performing because I don't really get that nervous in front of large crowds. Hopefully in a year or two when I get a larger fan base, I will become something bigger and have more money. If not, I'll always have a plan B because I'm going to college and I will recieve my degree no matter what happens with the music because any day the music could stop.

Ms Tomlin's Class
Even though I come late for Tomlin's class, I really love it and I think I learn a lot of things. Right now we've recently been learning about laws. We've addressed how a bill becomes a law and every process it has to go through before it's actually published. It's really helpful because you need to know your rights and the laws or else people with higher authority will try to push you around just because you're clueless. Being in her class makes me want to major in law just so I can learn a lot of new things but I know it's going to be a lot of hard work. That's the only problem. I don't like to work too hard but I like to gain a lot of knowledge.. if that makes any sense. Police officers often do unlawful things and searches but since people do not know their rights and what's against the law, they don't know to stop them and call for actions/ report it. I think it's important to know your laws and rights because that's the only way to survive in the USA.

Music
I really like listening to music so this topic should be easy. One song I like, and would like to discuss is Changes by Tupac. Every time I hear that song I feel like he's saying some valuable stuff that people should hear, maybe it'll actually change something one day. In the song he pretty much talks about America. And how America works in his eyes. I pretty much agree with every thing he said in that song because I also kind of believe that America is corrupt. There was one line in the song he said that I agree with because it makes me remember changes I been through in my life. The line was "I'd love to go back to when we played as kids but things change, and that's the way it is." It makes me remember how many friends I thought I had, that I never seen again, and how many problems I overcame to be the person I am today. His song is based on black on black crime and how African-Americans don't stick together and I agree with it because of my past experience and stories I've heard on the News. I think if black people stuck together we would be unstoppable because it's so many of us. And I hope one day people will have the same mindset as Tupac and I, because then we'll be able to make it way further than a graveyard or jail cell.

Class Related
Lately in class we've been reading a book called Farenheit 451, and so far it hasn't been that good to me. Maybe it's because one of the reasons that they stated in that book, when they said people like books with profanity in them. Well not too much profanity but maybe some action or something you know. Something that'll keep you on the edge on your seat. Other than that the class has been going good. I like the activity we did when we annotated the book because it helps better understand the novel. Most of the time when teachers assign books for students to read the students are just reading it and doesn't know half of what's going on in it. Annotating the text as you read helps you comprehend better and you can also learn a few new words if you didn't already know them.

Passion 😏
Passion.. Hmm I don't really think I'm that passionate for any certain topic. Well atleast I can't think of anything I'm very passionate about right now besides being successful I'm life. My passion for success is very strong. No matter what I set my mind to I will always get it done. Which makes me believe I'm very passionate about success. I've had a lot of barriers to stop me from reaching goals in my life but I always seem to pull through and before I know it, I accomplish what I wanted to. I think it's best not to set goals because id look at it as limiting yourself. Setting a goal is like setting a finish line. In a race you need to get PASSED the finish line in order to win right? So why stop at the finish line and let someone else win. Why not go pass your "goal" and be above the bar. Another thing I may be passionate about is family and being connection. I always try to make everything straight between my family because I believe we're all that we got. No one else will be there for you like your family member will. I don't know that's just how I think, some people think otherwise. I believe having a passion for something had to come naturally. Although you can grow a passion for things, just as easy as your passion grew for it, it can disappear. To be really passionate about something doesn't come from just seeing something and saying you like it. It comes from not seeing something and still wanting it.
