SCHOOL

School is becoming very frustrating. I swear I'm ready to graduate and just start my life because personally i think TMA is just a big waste of time. Instead of giving me my credits in the subjects that I need. I have a million elective credits and more credits in math and every other subject than the ones I actually need. I have about 51 credits, with another semester to go, but still don't have all the credits i need to graduate. What I'm saying is why didn't I get the credits I NEED when i was able to? Why give me extra stuff that i dont need at all? It doesn't count toward college. Does the school need better statistics of how many kids are passing or something? Because you guys are really wasting my time and I'm tired of it i could have been graduated. I've passed all my regents and I'm ready to go!! When will it all be over? How come now that it's the end of the year, we have to work 2x as hard for credits we could have gotten earlier in the year, instead of taking extra elective classes? I've been in this school since 7th grade and I've noticed we're wasting our time, I've been here for about 4yrs+ and I'm still not on the verge of graduating. Please god take the wheel before go I crazy.

Class Related Response

Our visit to BAM was really good. I like all the acting of A Midsummer Night's Dream and how we changed it into modern day language so everyone could understand. If we wouldn't have did that, everyone would have been confused because of the way we were talking. It would've sounded like we were just talking, not knowing what we were talking about. I also like how they gave everyone their turn to give their own opinion on how they plays were and what they thought about the other groups. It would've been better if they would've have said you can only give constructive criticism because some of the comments that were given were not called for. For example when the kid said his name was "deez nuts" -__-. All in all the visit was good though, I just wish we had a chance to visit the college also, not only perform.

WT has been good so far. I like Yosemite and all the activities he includes when he comes. Also I like when we turn Shakespeare into modern language. Not only does it help us read it easier, but it's also funny. I'm just noticing that Shakespeare has a lot of racist jokes in his scripts although it doesn't seem like it. Breaking down the script sentence by sentence helped me realize this. I can't wait to take the trip to BAM and watch our class perform it lol. I hope they don't get laughed at. But yea breaking it down with WT and changing it into modern language makes things way easier and understandable. Also WT really came through with those donuts, we were hungry. I wonder how longer WT is going to be around? He makes class much better.

Free Write 3-25

Another blog.. Atleast this time it's free write so I can talk about whatever I want. Kendrick Lamar came out with a new album about a week ago and I heard it's pretty good. Too bad I can't hear any songs because people upload "freestyles" on youtube, posing as if they're Kendrick Lamar just so you can hear them rap. I HATE THAT!! If you want people to hear you rap, build your own fan base, don't try to pose as someone else. Especially if you're not as good or better than them! His album is called "To Pimp a Butterfly". The album cover is very political actually. It has a group of black people standing in front of the White House, on top of a judge. I think the judge was symbolizing the system, and the black people standing on top of him was pretty much saying "soon we will over-come". Also I heard that in the album, he talks about a lot of political problems and how the system treats black men and women. I like things like that because the system is really messed up for certain people and it needs to be spoke upon. You live and you learn.

Random Blog

Blogging takes a lot. I often forget about doing a blog when I get home from work and then I have to catch up with the class. I actually kind of like blogs though because it's an easy project grade. I'm good at typing, I can type anything fast. I'm also good at writing too so everything pretty much falls into play when I have to do a blog. Blogs have a huge affect on your grade. Being that they're worth a project grade, they take off about 40% of your grade if you don't do it. Which sucks, but hey, it's rules. How could something so easy be worth so much? If only life was like this lol. I'm thinking of maybe becoming a fire fighter when I get older because the job is kind of easy, sort of like what I hoped life was like. Well not really "easy" but I mean I think only working 3 days a week for a salary pay is pretty good.

"One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain." - Bob Marley

I picked this quote because like myself, Bob Marley is a musician. Bob Marley is a very smart man but everybody thinks he was just a junky because he smoked alot of marijuana. Marijuana didn't hurt him. I think he was trying to give America a message through his music, his fan base just wasn't big enough. I agree with this quote because every time I hear music it really uplifts my soul. I can be really sad, if I listen to a hype or uplifting song it will have me jumping around or feeling good in no time. All my pain mysteriously disappears. But after the music, it comes back unfortunately. I don't know what it is about the music but it's like it has something in it that makes me forget about my problems.

Socratic seminars seem to be ripping me apart this semester. I hate them. I feel as if they're bringing my grades down because of all the work you have to do just to participate. Don't get me wrong the concepts/themes of the stories are good. It's just all of the questions that follow it. Maybe if we just read the passages and then talked about them in the Socratic seminar instead of writing about what we're going to talk about would be better. Most people could read and talk about it without a problem, it's the writing part that they don't like. I need to improve my writing endurance because I know college will be asking for a lot but I don't think I'm ready to start improving it in this class, because i don't think it helps me. What i did like was when we read the passages and then presented the passage that each group was assigned to then take notes. I believe that worked better because it's not like we had to talk about each and every story, We were assigned a story which we taught to our fellow classmates and we learned about their stories when they were presented.
